From The Center of Your Chest

 We've all been there before.
A moment in time where we loved too deeply, too softly, too loudly, 

Never dreaming of the day where they'd have it in them to tear us apart...
This one's for you. 

 

Years of suffocating, suffering from the aching- the pangs in your chest-

Singing out to yourself a melody of a broken heart.
Here, darling. Close your hazy eyes,

Let me help you with your bags, Let me show you that love can be tender,

Instead of the things that could render- your soul and your trust.
Love can soft, it can be warm and soothing.
Come a little closer, You and I? We could go back to the basics,

Strip off all of our clothes, Allow me to kiss you while we're both naked.
My lips that'll gently press against the center of your chest...

Lay your weary heart to rest.

It's okay to be afraid. A new-found love is what we will create.
Allow me to be the one who makes you smile even on your gloomy days.
Go dancing in the rain. We'd laugh hysterically as the world passes us by,

You would be my electrolytes,

I would be your daily dose joy and energy.

Just tell me what you need- When you need your space,

I'll never be too far away, but we've got to have some faith, 
Here, just let me show you, babe.
Together we could lift all of our sorrows away.

 

 I know that you've been hurt before, I can see it; it's written all over your face.
Even without riches, we would live in such an elegant and luxurious way.
What an honor it would be, If I could show you my unconditional love.
I want to experience so many new things with you.

We'd step into this world with a new perspective,

Communicating so well, wouldn't ever need a detective.

We'd solve all of life's riddles, fix the altercations and redirect ourselves when there's a misinterpretation.
We'd do so well- two peas in a pod, always in sync when it comes to communication.
You and I could be so harmonious- a love so beautiful, immaculate and wonderful.
Love you in the day, throughout the night, your heart no longer empty,
Your glass always filled to the brim, no more missing pieces, I'll be the one to fill up the holes.

I want to show you just how breathtakingly gorgeous you are.

An arrangement of stardust, atoms, and an entire universe- 
All that and so much more; so much to say about the beauty inside,
Your divine creation is a blessing, so baby with you;

With you, I'd always put you first.Even when it hurts.
Darling, what you've endured, the things you've been put through- it's all over now.
Just run into my arms,

Close your worn-out eyes.
Baby, let's go back to the basics,

Take all the time that we need. Slowly... until we're full naked.
Under the blankets, on top of the sheets,

As you quietly gasp, our hands locked, fingers intertwined.
Let me kiss you, right in the center of your vulnerable chest.

In your arms, I would rest.
