I met a metaphorical girl dancing along in a metaphysical world,
She asked me to stay, so we danced until sunset, but then my head started to twirl.
Dazed and confused, I woke up from this dream,
Felt a tingle in my chest, realized that it was only three, so I closed my eyes because I needed some rest.
Tossed the blankets up over my head, I needed to get some sleep.
Daydreaming about a field of daffodils, felt like Jack and Jill running up the hill.
The pain grew stronger, so why did I feel the way that I felt?
Luminescent dreams that felt too real.
Started questioning myself why I was all caught up in my feels.
I met a metaphorical girl in a metaphysical world,
She held me close as our love story began to unfurl,
We walked down the neon streets, flashing lights passing us by.
As the dream began to fade away, the pretty young girl began to cry.
Knowing that this would end and that I’d wake up again,
Yeah, it was time to say goodbye.
I felt a tingle in my chest and my heart started to flutter.
Couldn’t tell her how I felt, and so I started to stutter.
When I go back, I’ll have to tell her that it was time to let go,
Because it was only a dream, so she has to know that I couldn’t love her.
I met a metaphorical girl, stuck inside of my vivid dreams,
She and I come from two different worlds.
A rhyme book with paper and pen,
This is where the story ends.
